Hard At Work
Whew! We have been burning the midnight oil to get all the files finalized and ready for printing. We wanted to send out a post to keep everyone up to date with our progress.
Alternate Rule Set
After dozens of tests, re-tests, tweaks, adjustments and head to table pounding we have worked out all the kinks for the Panic In The O.R. rule set. This game play mode is a completely new and very fun way to play Medicine Whoops. The premise is that due to a catastrophic event at the hospital, all of the ridiculous operating room tools are in a huge mess. Doctors must prepare them for the waiting list of patients who have stacked up and are in need of treatment. The first doctor to correctly assign all of their operating room cards for the upcoming surgeries wins leaving the other doctors buried in the confusion. We are currently updating the rule book and writing/editing/proofreading the new material and will make it available for everyone to check out as soon as it is ready. We had a blast this weekend playing with this new rule set and all of our play testers loved how different it was while still holding true to the crazy, fun, "take that" spirit of the original game mode. Can't wait to share more about this!
Creative Event Cards
The final selection has been made for the creative event and we have been busy Illustrating and coloring the new artwork and adding them to the production files. Here is a preview of the new cards created completely from your input on the BGG thread.
Moving Forward
Please keep an eye out for surveys which will be coming out soon. We will use these to gather all the necessary info we need in order to get all the goodies into your hands as soon as possible. We are still working through the survey tools and how add-ons will be addressed. We want to make sure that you have all the options you could want for project fulfillment in case you have any last minute add-ons or need to make changes as well as have access to solid customer support if there is any confusion in the process or if you are a first time backer. We fully committed to do everything we possibly can to make this a really nice experience for everyone.
Final Thoughts
Message to Chief Of Staff Pledge Levels - Most are in and have been completed though we are still waiting on a couple. Please, Please, Please get your photos and info in right away so that we can get them completed ASAP. We are working almost around the clock to get everything in place and custom illustrations are a lot of work.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported this project. It has been amazing and all of us here are inspired by your excitement and desire to play our crazy game. We will keep the creative wheels turning and keep you in the loop on more releases this year!
Thank you,
Matt, Trevor, IanAnalog Evolution Games
Analog Evolution
Since the dawn of the digital age people have become more and more disconnected from each other. AE Games strives to bring groups of people closer together to, laugh, enjoy stories, and match wits in a social environment. Tabletop gaming used to be a staple of home entertainment. Unfortunately this tradition of gaming has really fallen off the map with the introduction of video games in the home. But as every industry finds out eventually the content becomes over streamlined and stale. This opens the door for new ideas or re-imagining of old ones. We at AE Games feel that this trend is going to swing back the other direction and people will rediscover what is at the heart of tabletop gaming...A sense of connection, interaction, and community. Our goal is to provide fun, creative, new concepts and game mechanics to keep the genre fresh and engaging. When the trend swings back to tabletop games we want to be here to see it and help fuel the evolution

5 Days To Go! Over 150% Funded and growing every day!
The second Seek and Find event has ended and Zayne you were the first to submit the correct list. You are a seek and find beast! That being said due to a communication snafu last time around you are already receiving your additional copy of the game and so this time around for you it is just the bragging rights of being first...yet again No fear I'm sure we will throw something extra into your package for being Master of Seek and Find! Maybe we need to get you to make these rather then compete in them. So the additional copy of the game this round goes to Laurie for the second fastest correct solve of the seek and find. Almost everyone got the correct answers for this one however Laurie was very quick to respond. Congrats Laurie!

Project Update #5: Yeeehaw Once again Westerlings!
Posted by Analog Evolution Games ♥ Like
Halfway and pressing on!
Thank you Westerlings for all the great feedback and support. This is a long journey but we are making great progress and are getting primed for a big push into the final few weeks. The Westerlings are making waves and people are starting to take notice. Keep up the great work and we will get this project across the finish line.
Good News Canada
We have worked out further details about how we will be shipping in Canada. This means that we will be adding additional Canadian pledge levels that have a $7 shipping fee added into the pledge with no additional shipping charges. Due to this change we will be adding limited Canadian EB pledge levels as well so you don't lose your spot in the wagon
Good News EU
We have been hard at work taking care of all the logistics to get over this hurdle but we wanted to make sure that Westerly is a viable purchase for our Westerly brothers and sisters on the other side of the pond.
Ok so that's some of the main housekeeping items out of the way so here's the fun part!
The Return of River Madness and a Field Manual To Boot
We will be including the original river dexterity as an add-on over the next week for those of you who still enjoy a good dexterity change of pace.
We will also be offering Squirrely Bill's field manual as an add-on. Keep in mind Original Westerlings will still get this reward free of charge.
The Westerly Kid Photo Bomb Event!
We are planning an event for the next few weeks that we would like to run up to the end of the campaign to both help spread the word and promote a creative activity to help build the Westerly community. There is a wanted poster that can be downloaded at the bottom of the page. This is the Westerly Kid. He is wanted for various deeds and we need to spread the word that he is out there on the loose. Ok basically its a QR code that people can scan to access the kickstarter page but we just can't pass up an opportunity for thematic ridiculousness. So this is were you guys and gals come in. We want you to print out the poster and hang it and take a picture, not a tall order really but there is a catch. We want you to show it off and show the rest of the Westerlings how creative you can be in the following categories funniest location, or highest visibility. Submit photos to docroygamer@gmail.com and we will post them up on the AEG Facebook and blog spot for all to enjoy . With full respect of Kickstarter rules this is not a contest there are no prizes this is a fun activity that the Westerlings can participate in which will help us spread word about the campaign.
We of course must require that you respect all local laws, rules and regulations when hanging up the poster. Please ensure that the method used to hang the poster is easily removed and could not be considered vandalism or littering in any way. This is supposed to be fun please keep it this way and show off your PR skillz!

Westerly Reboot Is Live!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2010758051/westerly-reboot
Well Pardners the day has finally arrived Westerly is back up on Kickstarter!
We have gathered a ton of feedback and incorporated a lot of really great suggestions into the game to deliver exactly what you are looking for in a Westward Expansion themed adventure. We also spent the bulk of time working with new manufacturers to ensure that we secured the best quality for the best value and most importantly accurate production and delivery dates. This work also enabled us to significantly lower the pledge price levels and include some really fun expansions in the higher tier pledge. We focused on giving you more game more content and more fun in the box.
We hope you will join us and the rest of the Westerlings on this Epic Western Journey and to bring back all the nostalgic memories surrounding this theme that a lot of us share. Please spread the word and don't hesitate to ask questions make comments and reach out to us about any of the details of the game.

Westerly Art Update
Since pulling back the first Westerly campaign we have been really focused on manufacturing to drive the cost down and game play to include all the great feedback we received. We have also put a lot of time in updating the artwork to really dress up the overall look of all the game components. I wanted to give everyone a sneak peek some updated art so you can see what we have been working on. The river cards for the prototype were particularly rough in the first campaign. These were quick mock ups so we could get as much playtesting as possible. So it was one of the first things we wanted to fix between the first campaign and the reboot. Here's a sneak peak at the new card art for rivers.
Westerly Reboot on Kickstarter Begins Jan 28th!!!
We have been hard at work getting everything ready for the reboot. We have taken in all of your fantastic feedback and have spent a lot of time working the great ideas into the game. Your input is what will make this game as fantastic as we wanted it to be.
One of the biggest changes to the campaign is that we have found a new supplier that will enable us to offer the game at a much lower cost then before and at a higher level of quality. We really did our homework on this and got a lot of great advice from amazing designers and publishers at Metatopia. With a special thanks to Stephen Buonocor from Stronghold Games who helped a ton getting us in touch with manufactures and printers.
We have put a lot more of what people loved into the game and streamlined other parts to make it play smoother based on extensive independent play tests. It was really difficult for us to pull back the last campaign before it finished but we really wanted to get the cost down and be able to provide high quality ON TIME which seems to be rare these days.
We're going to start posting the latest updates and some sneak peeks at completed art upgrades very soon. So it's time to start the Westerly buzz machine back up again.
Our new launch date is the 28th so start spreading the word and keep an eye out for updates.

Greetings Westerlings! I just wanted to provide an update on our progress so far. We are currently working with 3 different large scale game printing companies. Right now we are getting all the quotes and samples to ensure top quality. These companies have amazing experience working with large game publishers to provide premium components. This will mean high quality parts at a much better price point. We have also been working on the game with the great feedback all the Westerlings have provided. As more information comes in I will keep you up to date.

Westerly Important Announcement
Dear Westerlings,
This past weekend we brought Westerly to Metatopia, a game designer’s convention. We had numerous play tests and received very positive responses to the game. Thanks to all of the buzz generated by your enthusiastic support, there were many people who were eager to check out our game for the first time. You guys and gals are awesome!
When we first created the Westerly prototypes, we used our strongest skills, namely our design, illustration and boardgaming experience. While at the event, we gained a great deal of insight into some of the aspects we were less familiar with, like the printing and production of a game of this size. After processing all of this information, we came to the conclusion that we could bring you a much higher quality product for significantly less cost. And now that we know that we can, we would be foolish not to. The most important thing for us is to get you the very best product that we can. It has always been our goal to be completely open and honest with you about the project, which is why, despite how difficult this is to say, we are going to need additional time to make these adjustments. It is really important to us that you do not experience delays after the project has closed. There is nothing more infuriating than giving someone your hard earned dollars only to have them continue to send you one apologetic email after another seven months after the fact about why you haven't received the product you helped to fund. So we have decided to blaze a new trail, and this, dear Westerlings, is the plan: We need to temporarily suspend the Kickstarter campaign for two months to give us time to work with the new printer to ensure the higher quality product and the lower cost. We truly believe in our hearts that this is in the best interest of both the game itself and all those who believe in it.
But fear not Westerlings, when we relaunch in January, the project pledge levels will be significantly lower and we are going to be able to include more content into the game. This new content will be shaped by the suggestions you have given us about things you would like to see in the game. In addition, because all of you have been with us since we first launched, there will be an additional reward given exclusively to you, the original Westerlings. During these proceedings, we will continually be updating our blogspot,(http://analogevolutiongames.blogspot.com/) and we encourage you to visit and comment as frequently and frankly as you'd like. We want you to remain a part of this process the entire way through. We thank you for believing in Westerly and believing in us.
We hope that you stay with us during this process, and we would greatly value your continued input.
Sincerely,
Your dedicated Wagon Masters Matthew Schwartz, Trevor Lafferty and Ian Bates

The wind up is beginning for the Kickstarter Launch
Well as you can see from my last update the prototypes have arrived and they look fantastic. We had to make a couple changes once we received the prototypes however they were fairly minor and everything is good to go. We completed filming our Kickstarter video and are putting the finishing touches on the campaign materials. While we are busy editing the video and touching up the Kickstarter content we are also having some playtest and in depth reviews done so that we can have some independent opinions all ready for when we launch the campaign. The video was too much fun to film and I think everyone will be amused by our approach and execution. I can't wait to showcase it but I am going to try to keep it under wraps until the Kickstart launch.
